The Workforce Institute continues to add some serious influence to our distinguished board of advisors: Today, I’m thrilled to formally announce our new board member, Sarah Morgan! Sarah brings decades of expertise and a passionate vision for creating real change – not only in the ever-evolving world of HR, but throughout society.
As an HR executive with more than 20 years of experience, Sarah has built an influential voice and following specifically around helping organizations build more inclusive and equitable cultures. In 2011, she debuted her blog, The Buzz on HR, under the pen name “Buzz Rooney.” It quickly became a hit, amassing more than 10,000 monthly readers. Since dropping the pseudonym, Sarah has been the driving force behind a number of hashtag movements aimed at spotlighting and ultimately ending social injustice, including #BlackBlogsMatter, #BlackPodsMatter, and #AntiRacistHR, as well as #TimesUpHR, focused on stopping workplace harassment.
Sarah also created and hosts the excellent “Leading in Color” podcast centered on cultivating positive workplace experiences through diversity, inclusion, and social consciousness. I urge you to give it a listen and subscribe!
In her more formal roles, Sarah is the chief excellence officer at BuzzARooney, LLC, and she also serves as the head of HR for a national retail-service conglomerate headquartered in North Carolina.
Keep your eyes peeled for Sarah’s first contribution on The Workforce Institute blog – coming soon.
Welcome, Sarah!
