Our Boss’s Day survey indicates that workers prefer managers who invest in their professional development vs. those who focus on making the workplace more fun.
Our survey reached employees across the spectrum of industries. I wonder if this response varies according to the type of industry and employee commitment to the job. For instance, would fun be more important to millennials in temp jobs than to mid-career managers?
I also suspect that most employees would like a manager who can deliver both.
Our data doesn’t allow me to dig this deeply into the results. What do you think?
